Aloha Friday

Welcome to this week's addition of Aloha Friday...head over to Kailani's blog to check out what everyone else wants to know today. My question for the day is...

Are you a crafter? And do you have a regular craft area at your house?

Ok, so that's 2 questions...but the second one doesn't make any sense if you don't answer the first. I am a huge crafter, but lately I haven't had any time. I am so far behind with Alexa's scrapbook it's not funny. Now that we have a place of our own I'm hoping to setup my own little craft area. I think if I have an area already setup it will be easier to craft a little here and there. Here is my before picture

I'll post an after pic in a few minutes!

Childless

Where has my child gone? Tonight makes night number 3 that Alexa is away from home, and I miss her terribly! Monday is her normal night with Mimi and Pop, and last night she was with her daddy. Tonight I am having dinner with some friends to celebrate a birthday so Alexa is spending another night with Mimi and Pop. 3 nights away from home is just too much if you ask me, but dinner at 8 is a bit late for a 2 year old.

I always enjoy some me time...but to be perfectly honest, I'm ready for Alexa to come home!

We have another full weekend planned and I can't wait. Friday night we are having dinner with some new friends from NewSpring and Alexa is going to get to play with Peyton for the first time. Then Saturday we have some shopping and pool time planned, and Sunday brings our favorite. NEWSPRING GREENVILLE!! I love hearing Alexa say it...I really need to get it on tape before the cuteness is gone.

Well, it's off to dinner for me...can't wait for some lettuce wraps!

Melt My Heart!

One of the things I hate most about mornings is having a deadline. My job is extremely flexible, and I don't technically have to be here until 8:30, but if I don't come in until 8:30 that means I can't leave until 5 and it also means that on my flex weeks I can't have Friday off. I am not crazy about either option, so that typically puts me on a pretty tight schedule in the mornings. This morning was no different, except for the fact that Alexa woke up before I got out of the shower. Poor thing, she fell out of her bed. She wasn't hurt, but she was standing in my room when I came out of the bathroom, and she wanted her mommy. I quickly picked her up and started one of her fave videos so I could finish getting ready. We had a few tense moments as I was trying to get her ready because she wanted to finish her video, but for the most part we did ok. It took a few more minutes than I would've preferred and we got to work a few mintues later than I would've liked, but life goes on right?

Then as we are walking to her class holding hands she looked at me and said 'mommy, you are my best friend!' Oh I melted! I stopped in the middle of the hallway, bent down and gave her the biggest hug and said 'Alexa you are my best friend too'. It was the sweetest thing, and it made my imperfect morning completely perfect. What a blessing from God my sweet little girl is!!

Sleepover

Last Saturday night after dinner I made the decision to call Jodi and ask if Walker could spend the night with us. This was Alexa's first sleepover at our house. I didn't think they were EVER going to go to sleep! I think I quit hearing the giggles somewhere around 11pm, and I went to bed then. They were so cute playing together.

Playdate!!

Oh my goodness, we had the best time this morning with Kristin & Ansley! It has been almost a year since we saw them last and I had no idea how Lexa & Ans would react to each other, but they did great. This morning we met them at Alexa's fave 'chick-o-lay' and after breakfast they proceeded to have a blast on the playground. Kristin and I had a great time catching up and comparing the attitudes of our 2 year olds. LOL! When playtime was over we continued the fun with a trip to Wal-Mart. They were too cute sitting in the buggy together.

I am so glad that we will get to see them more often now that we live in GVL! Here are a few pics of our morning out. Can't wait to do it again soon :)

Another Weekend...

Wow, where did this week go? I have to admit time flies whether you are having fun or not, maybe more so if you are having fun...but even when I'm not the weekend is here before I know it. It's only Friday night and I already feel like our weekend is gone. As usual we are super busy...tomorrow morning we have a play date with Kristin and Ansley. Ansley is about 6 months younger than Alexa, and now that we live in Greenville we are closer so we can hang out some. I am really looking forward to seeing Kristin, and I can't wait to see how Alexa and Ansley interact since it has been almost a year since the last time they were together. We are meeting at Alexa's personal fave "chic-o-lay" LOL!

After lunch we are headed to Spartanburg for a birthday party at Pump It Up with one of Alexa's friends from school. Mia's mom and I work in the same office, and although Alexa and Mia aren't in the same classroom, they get to see each other on the playground and they took dance together this past year. It is sure to be lots of fun for the girls and the moms!

Then to round out our day we are going to Mimi and Pop's house to pay a visit to their pool. Nothing like an afternoon with the fam! NewSpring on Sunday wraps up our full weekend and we are headed back to Monday. Oh, did I mention I'm helping out with VBS at Mimi's church next week? So, not only is our weekend busy, but our week is even busier! Time flies :) and we are loving every minute of it!
